ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
HealthRight International (formerly Doctors of the World-USA) is a global health and human rights organization working where health is diminished or endangered by violations of human rights and civil liberties. Reaching out to the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, HealthRight works with local partners to build sustainable access to health care for excluded populations.
OUTLINE OF ROLE:
HealthRight International is seeking a Development Intern to work closely with the Development Director researching prospective individual funding sources, and work with the development staff on other cultivation events as needed. HealthRight has a portfolio of major donors and is seeking to expand new prospects and cultivate existing contributors. Position requires a highly organized self-starter to provide support in researching additional funding sources and prospects, helping with cultivation events/receptions, and other general functions within the development department. Position entails administrative duties, including working with our donor data base Raisers Edge to generate and follow up on donor acknowledgement letters.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Help develop prospective individual/major donor funding sources
2. Research on existing and prospective individual/major donors
3. Work with the development team on tasks for event planning, management, and follow-up
4. Other duties as assigned
