HealthRight International is a global health and human rights organization working to build lasting access to health for excluded communities. HealthRight works closely with communities and establishes local partnerships to deliver health services, while providing training and equipment to improve systems and enable our partners to deliver services on their own. Our goal is to build lasting access to health, helping to realize the right to health for excluded communities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Under the Program Associate’s supervision and guidance, the intern will assist in providing necessary program and administrative support as required by the program team at HealthRight headquarters in the management of projects focused on promoting Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, HIV and malaria for various populations in Kenya, Nepal and Vietnam regions.

Tasks will include drafting minutes for project calls or meetings, assisting in researching topics relevant to the projects as required by the project team and providing support in data entry, compilation or extraction based on field reports, assist in proposal writing, liaising with field staff and others as requested. The intern will also provide weekly news updates for health and security issues in Kenya, Nepal and Vietnam, support in printing and saving documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a graduate student currently enrolled in a program in public health or relevant social sciences. The applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook, have strong organizational and writing skills and be self-motivated and detail oriented.           

Strong interest and/or experience in global health, knowledge of a statistical software package such as SPSS or STATA and familiarity with Kenya/Nepal/Vietnam are highly desirable.
