Irene, also living in Donetsk, was four months pregnant with her third child when she discovered that she was HIV-positive. A health clinic employee offered to help arrange an abortion. However, when Irene learned that treatment was available that would greatly increase the chance that she would give birth to a healthy child, she opted to keep the baby.
