HealthRight International would like to thank our outstanding sponsors and supporters of the 2009 Health and Human Rights Awards for the success of this year’s event. Thanks to a generous challenge grant from GlaxoSmithKline, HealthRight was able to raise more than $112,000 for our work with excluded communities around the world!
While honoring two outstanding leaders in the field of global health – GlaxoSmithKline and the West Pokot District Health Management Team of Kenya – the event also paid tribute to HealthRight’s founder, the late Dr. Jonathan Mann. We would also like to give a special thanks to Anthony S. Fauci, this year’s keynote speaker, as well as Naomi Mann, the daughter of Dr. Mann, both of whom spoke so clearly of how Dr. Mann’s vision has inspired and informed HealthRight’s work to build lasting access to health for excluded communities around the globe.
